Community Psychologist

Dr Brian English is a Community Psychologist. Community psychologists take into account personal and family relationships, social problems, along with workplace issues in mental health. Brian holds a number of qualifications – PGC (clinical pain management), MSc (App Psych – with a focus on clinical and organizational psychology), an MBA (mediation, employee wellbeing and organizational change management), and a PhD (developmental psychology). His areas of expertise include: Depression – particularly persistent depression, Workplace Stress – with a special focus on bullying at work, Adjustment Issues – especially retirement, Relationship Conflict – including anger management, Chronic Pain and Rehabilitation, and Workplace Trauma – with a focus on ‘first responders’. Brian has additional training in Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman’s Couples Counselling, Eye-Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Client-Centred Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. With over 30 years experience, he brings an evidence-based approach to help you manage your psychological distress and build resilience.
